卡耐基梅隆

與其它大學的免費課程不同，自學者和在校生在頁麵上有不同的入口。卡耐基梅隆建議造訪者在網站上注冊，建立自己的資料庫。這樣一來，你得在有限的時間內完成一門課程，還要參加幾次考試，當然，即使你得了１００分，卡耐基梅隆也不會給你開證明，更不會給你學分。

英國公開大學是由英國十幾所大學聯合組建的。其網絡公開課的一大特色，是把課程依難度分為“導論、中級、進階、研究”四個等級，科目跨文學、法學、商學、教育、理工等領域，甚至還設有技術培訓課程，如“商業寫作技巧”和“如何做一個演示文稿”。

用iTunes U“淘”課

“iTunes U”是專門提供高等教育內容的學習頻道，集成了橫跨美國、英國、澳大利亞、新西蘭、愛爾蘭等175個國家的大學課程資料庫。使用者可以透過電腦或iPod下載視頻、音頻等課堂實況，乃至教學大綱和課堂腳本。

耶魯、劍橋、麻省理工、斯坦福、杜克大學的教程，被眾多網友公認製作最為精良豐富，其所提供的獨立頁麵也有著明確的分類。而耶魯的課程受到追捧，很大程度上是因為它的所有課程都有附有腳本。

比起iTunes上占壓倒性優勢的美國大學，英國老牌名校劍橋與牛津也陸續將150多門課程上載到這一平台。

事實上，偏好英國大學的課程的iTunes U用戶也不乏其人。英國公開大學（open university）的課程錄音規範，且都配有腳本，獲評“很適合練托福聽力”。Jude更有朋友迷戀“A romp through the history of the philosophy”的女老師濃重而激昂的英式口音。

此外，南佛羅裏達州大學的有聲讀物存貨也堪稱一絕。杜克大學的廣告課程，以複古風為特色，也沒逃過眼尖的國內網民的搜索。
