Jack ________________________ Jack doesn’t know me. He gets excited at the presence of a stranger who brings the strange scent of deep earth. I, the new-comer, squat down to shorten the distance between our eyes, mix our breath. Jack closes his eyes at my thigh against my warmth in trust and leans toward the weight of my hand that his master gives at night.
