LOVE

 

 

In my heart, her words

like whispering, still echo:

“Toast to Hope!” She raises the glass.

The wine is the color of blood,

dark crimson, pulsing with a beat

to the rhythm of Love.

 

“Let’s drink for the matured love!”

Her eyes are filled with tender

lovingness; With unspeakable joy

and serene happiness, her heart

seems to skip a beat, yet, unburdened.

 

“Now” is a bygone graveyard

swept by autumn wind’s weeping.

“Let’s drink for the amorous remembering

 of the past!” The exhausted heart,

cold and empty, tells her that

another ruthless winter is around the corner.

 

O Farewell, Hope, Love and Memory!

My heart has been sleeping too long

under the snow to wake to the birds’ calling

all over the spring mountains

even after the winter is gone.

   “為希望喝一杯” 她把酒杯擎起
   那酒是殷紅色，如身上的血液，
   博博的跳著，隨著愛情的拍節。
   

   “喝一杯，祝賀已經成熟的愛情”
   她的柔情聚集在她的兩眸中，
   心跳得這樣急促，跳動的心裏
   蘊著柔和的幸福，至高的歡喜。
   
   現在是秋風嗚咽吹過古墓地，
   “喝一杯，為著以往溫柔的記憶”
   心已是那樣疲倦，寒冷而虛空
   她覺得不久就要遇到了嚴冬。
   
   唉，希望，唉， 愛情，唉，記憶，再見吧！
   我的心早已長眠在白雪之下，
   縱然在嚴冬之後，山山有杜鵑
   叫碎人的心，迎接另一個春天。

 吳興華(1921 - 1966)，詩人，學者，翻譯家。少年時即有神童之譽。年僅16 歲考入燕京大學西語係。同年發表長詩《森林的沉默》，轟動了詩壇。“這裏，詩又恢複為明朗的聲音，坦白說出，而所暗示的又都在” (周煦良語)。

   在燕京就學期間，他的語言和文學天才就開始引人注目。他的英籍導師謝迪克教授在48年後追憶說：吳興華“是我在燕京教過的學生中才華最高的一位，足以和我在康乃爾大學教過的學生、文學批評家哈羅德．布魯姆(耶魯大學教授，英語文學批評巨擘) 相匹敵”。

   他在詩歌、學術研究、翻譯三個領域齊頭並進，都取得了非凡的成就，與陳寅恪、錢鍾書同被譽為二十世紀中國最有學養的知識分子的代表。

   在詩歌創作上，他的詩崛起於抗戰時期的淪陷區，在現實主義和現代主義之外另辟蹊徑，融合了中國傳統的意境、漢語文字的特質和西洋詩歌的形式，力圖實現中國古典詩歌的現代轉化。

   在學術研究上，他學貫中西，博通文史，一手寫出《威尼斯商人-衝突與解決》，一手寫出《讀通鑒劄記》和《讀〈國朝常州駢體文錄〉》，被海外學者譽為現代中國真正學貫中西的少數幾位學人之一。

   在翻譯領域裏，他是將喬伊斯的《尤利西斯》介紹進中國的第一人，他那現已佚失的《神曲》譯稿被譽為譯林神品，他譯的莎翁劇作《亨利四世》受到廣泛推崇。此外，他還為現在流行的朱生豪《莎士比亞全集》譯本作了大量校譯工作。

   他的才華令人瞠目，他的命運卻令人扼腕。1957年，因與蘇聯專家持有不同意見被錯劃為右派，被取消了授課和發表論著的資格；1966年，慘死於文革初期的暴虐之中，年僅44 歲。

Sorry, I am late for the party. A late toast from me!

This poem remind me a song that I sang. This one someone suppose to sing with me, but she has something to do. SO I sang twice and mixed two track.

This talented poet died young. His lover/wife must miss him very much. Again a mimi song...:)

yes, i agree...at that time, 50-60 years ago, Chinese people did not have their "own" language, or voice....all the printed words were archaic...

(一)

像一個美好的夢景開放在白日中間，
向四周舒展它芳香鮮豔欲滴的花瓣，
同樣我初次看見她在人群當中出現，

不穩的步履就仿佛時時要滅入高天。

她的臉如一麵鏡子反映諸相的悲歡，
自己卻永遠是空虛，永遠是清澄一片。
偶爾有一點蒼白的哀感輕浮在表麵，
像冬日嗬出的暖氣，使一切潤濕黯然。

不能是真實，如此的幻想不能是真實！
永恒的品質怎能寓於這纖弱的身體，
戰抖於每一陣輕風，像是向晚的楊枝？

或許在瞬息即逝裏存在她深的意義，
如火鏈想從石頭內擊出飛迸的歌詩，
與往古遙遙的應答，穿過沉默的世紀......

吳興華曾讓我思考作為一個中國人的悲哀，但現在我已經不這樣想了。。。現代人無論東方西方麵對這個世界真的很難感覺到安全感。。。當不再有很多人深深鞠躬表示敬意時，我深深鞠躬，對那些我與之有共鳴的死去的和活著的靈魂。。。在抬頭的那一個過程中我感覺到安全與滿足。。。長眠在白雪下的心漸漸蘇醒，縱然外麵的風景正是嚴冬。。。
