故事背景設定在太平洋戰爭中後期，日本海軍在中途島海戰中被美海軍大敗；第一機動艦隊4艘航母被擊沉；聯合艦隊司令長官山本五十六大將戰死，太平洋上各島嶼的日軍守備部隊先後覆沒，日海軍處於嚴重不利的形勢。
昭和19年（公元1944年）的春天，特別少年兵部隊的神尾懷著對大和號的憧憬，登上了超弩級戰列艦“大和”號的甲板，當時的大和號是[閱讀全文]
