這部影片嚐試再現搖滾史上傳奇人物KURTCOBAIN自殺前的最後時光，由以《男人的一半是男人》（MyOwnPrivateIdaho）、《心靈捕手》（GoodWillHunting）等片聞名國際的導演GusVanSant操刀製作完成。但導演聲稱，此片並非關於Nirvana的傳記，而是塑造了一位與Cobine生平極為相似的音樂人Blake（MichaelPitt飾）作為片中主角來表現劇情。
