春花秋月何時了，

往事知多少？

小樓昨夜又東風，

故國不堪回首月明中！

雕欄玉砌應猶在，

隻是朱顏改。

問君能有幾多愁？

恰似一江春水向東流。

When would spring flowers and autumn moon recur not,

Then would bygones thus ever be forgot?

Last night, east wind re-came by my small house,

The lament of lost land the bright moon did arouse.

Albeit the jade steps and sculpted handrails do stay,

The visages have lost the rosy ray.

If asked, how much rancour held in my breast?

'Tis like a spring river rolling east without rest.
