Mad Men裏我看到的世界是,越快樂越墮落,越繁華越蒼涼,每個人心裏的洞,都不是可以自己控製,想就能填滿的。就像第一部裏的Don,過得(貌似)果斷篤定沉穩,很好,但是(也貌似)猶豫困惑遲疑,不快樂。大概這是60年代的Zeitgeist,Sexual liberation and feminism arrived,but people confused. 我看到一段對那個導演的采訪,他說,Just like in life, you don’t notice the gradual changes until you look back and-holy cow-how far have they come? How far have we? Where hast he time gone, besides into the creases of our foreheads?
想起來上中學時候語文老師很愛說的一句話是,吃人嚼過的饃不香。很多時候看下來,留住的除了感覺(我喜歡/不喜歡),可能就剩零星的一兩句話,比如Don教Peggy的,You are the product. You, feeling something.或者他們廣告人的不傳之秘,You buy it to recapture the feeling of being loved that you know when your dad bought you one for mowing the lawn。別人買你的東西,不是因為產品本身如何,是他們找到了自己想要的感覺。
