日常生活中的小收藏： 剛來美國的時候，曾經積攢過郵票，主要是想通過集郵的方式鼓勵孩子提高興趣和增長知識。那個時候我是一邊打工一邊修課，每天都會忙得不亦樂乎。孩子放學回家後會寫作業，寫完作業後會有時間練習繪畫或者是弄些集郵等等。這樣一來，我就可以放心的去打工和修課。（可惜的是集郵沒有繼續，後來就會中斷了。） 我們曾經住在一個美麗的小鎮子裏。那裏的氣候是四季分明。春天溫暖，夏季炎熱，秋季涼爽，冬天寒冷。可是那個時候我一麵要打工，一麵要修課，所以沒有機會去欣賞美麗的風景。開始上學的時候，不懂得如何去選課，竟然選了一門語言性很強的《社會學》。在上課的時候，才發現書中不僅生詞很多，而且講述的內容也很難懂。教課的老師每次會留一些課外作業，作業的分數會占總成績裏的10%。所以下了課後，我就趕緊跑到圖書館那裏寫作業，查字典。語言的障礙不僅影響了聽課，而且在寫作業的時候都覺得困難。一次在與一個同學的交談中得知，附近一個大商場裏有一個書店，她曾經在那裏買過書幫助學習語言。聽到之後，我決定去那裏的書店看一看，也許能夠買到輔助閱讀的書籍。 那個大型的商場位於美麗的小鎮子中部，離學校不算太遠。在商場裏有不同的分店。有出售衣物的，有賣鞋子的，有出售兒童玩具的，有出售書籍的，有賣手飾的，有星巴克咖啡店，也有一元錢店，另外還有比較大的便餐廳等等。 一次在回家的路上，正好路過大商場，我就一直找到了大商場裏的書店。想要看看有否幫助閱讀《社會學》方麵的書籍。在裏麵轉了一圈之後，覺得和學校的教科書還是有差別的，另外書籍的價錢有些貴。後來我就去了一元錢店。在裏麵竟然發現了有介紹美國奧林匹克運動員的錄影帶和介紹自然公園的錄影帶。除此之外，還發現了￥0.25美分的收集小冊子（Album）。覺得可以讓孩子作為一個業餘愛好去收藏。在周末的時候，我會去農貿市場買菜。所以經常會有不同的二角五硬幣被找回來。為了不花掉新的硬幣，後來我索性就把硬幣直接的放入收集冊中。就這樣，經過數年之後，收集冊上的州就收集全了。 在收集冊上的封麵是白宮，背麵是國會山，另一麵是總統山。然後還有一頁就是簡略的文字介紹。 現轉引如下： Commemorative Quarters of the United States Collector's Album “Started in 1999, the Commemorative State Quarter Program will continue through 2008. At no additional cost to taxpayers, this program is self-supported by the U.S. Mint." 在硬幣上的正麵是美國第一個總統華盛頓頭像的圖片，在硬幣的反麵則是選自各州有特色的圖片。在有些州的圖片設計上還會附有簡潔的文字。因此造幣場發行的硬幣不僅是通過精致的圖片設計，凝練的文字來彰顯各州的特色，而且還帶有知識性。 比如： 1.
