一日一花(2) : Jacob's Ladder

I love Jacob’s ladder. It has very informal form with small pale blue flowers. I planted it last year from a pot about 6” diameter with three or four shoots. This year I have a quite good size plant with lots of pretty flowers.

It is native of northern/central Europe and northern Asia. In Vermont, in wild Jacob’s ladder is listed as threatened native plant.  Bees love it.  I can always see bubble bees or honey bees busy on the flowers.

The scientific name is Polemonium caeruleum. It grows in zone 4 to 8.
