來自芬蘭赫爾辛基，四個16歲的少年在1994年冬天組成The Rasmus。1996年發行第一張專輯《Peep》迅速席卷芬蘭樂壇，打下金唱片成績，在一年之內舉行上百場的演唱會，所到之處無不風靡，而接下來的專輯《Playboys》又是一張金唱片，進而獲得芬蘭葛萊美獎-EMMA音樂獎的“最佳新人獎”。1999年第三張專輯《Hillofatester》中的單曲Liquid被樂迷和媒體票選為年度最佳單曲。2001年，他們的一首單曲F-f-f-falling被收錄在合輯《Hell Of Collection》中，不僅刷下白金銷量，還榮登排行榜冠軍，成為該年度芬蘭最受歡迎的熱門單曲之一。同年專輯《Into》成為雙白金唱片，並囊括EMMA音樂獎“最佳團體”、“最佳單曲”、“最佳搖滾/流行樂團”、“年度最佳專輯”四項大獎。如今，The Rasmus已征服整個歐洲，並和Red Hot Chili Peppers、Rancid、HIM、Roxette等國際級團體一起巡回演出。
2008年The Rasmus發行了樂隊的最新專輯《Black Roses》（歐洲9月26日發行，全球9月29日發行），10月份樂隊將在芬蘭參與一個叫Dynasty Tour 2008 的巡回演出，而2009年，樂隊將舉行全球巡回演出，名字正是本專輯的Black Roses - World Tour。
