16歲大女兒妮妮譜的曲子先是被她TJ高中選上送去District參加比賽，今天我們收到Northern Virginia District 通知，妮妮的曲子獲得一年一度Reflection比賽第二名（Award of Excellence ）。
今年比賽的命題是：Now and Here （此時此地）。妮妮譜了一個鋼琴與小提琴的奏鳴曲。老媽非常喜歡。聽起來象一個花季少女對未來美好愛情的向往和憧憬。因為還沒有男朋友，她的音樂裏有一種很單純的美，還略帶一絲迷茫和掙紮，有點象一根破土而出正在快速生長的潔白小豆芽，細細的，水水的，有點彎彎的。。。:)))

妮妮對自己音樂的詮釋：“Here and Now' is a piece I wrote that describes the ever-changing nature of life. Nothing lasts forever and time is absolute. In order to enjoy life, one must live within the instance of 'now', a single snapshot in a frame of time, a painted image of what is ‘here’. You can discover and experience magical things within a single moment; a first kiss, watching snow fall, a shooting star. These are the images that I intend to portray in my piece 'Here and Now.”
