However ancient, remote, and foreign Shakespeare's characters appear to be, people nowadays may nonetheless easily and unmistakenly see their struggling selves in them, being carried away in the current of their own imperfections. In life as much as in Shakespeare's plays, a hero becomes the fallen victim of the fatal and insurmountable flaws in his own nature, often at the worst possible time. It speaks thunderously of a tragedy.
